PLANNED GIVING
A planned gift is ‘deferred’ because Clan Douglas Society of N.A., Ltd. only receives them after the donor passes. Deferred planned gifts are fairly simple to give, usually only requiring the donor to name Clan Douglas Society of N.A. Ltd. as the beneficiary for part of their estate.
To make a charitable bequest, a donor has to allocate a portion of their estate to Clan Douglas Society of N.A., Ltd. in their legal will. They are usually allocated in three ways:

A specific amount of cash (e.g., $10,000);

A percentage of the donor’s total estate (e.g., 10% of an estate of $1 million would be $100,000 to charity); or
-
The remaining value of the estate after all other bequests have been paid.
Bequests are a great option for everyone as they don't cost a donor anything during their lifetime. A remembrance will be written in the Dubh Ghlase e-Newsletter along with a photo of the donor, if provided.
LEGACY GIVING
A Legacy Gift honors someone who has passed on and a remembrance will be written in the Dubh Ghlase e-Newsletter along with their photo, if provided.

All gifts should be directed to the current Treasurer of Clan Douglas Society of N.A., Ltd. Posted on this website under “Officers”. The Treasurer will provide the current mailing address at the appropriate time to your Trustee. This information should be noted in the will.
